Sabaayad is a Somali flat bread made with flour and then it is cooked on a hot griddle. It can be rolled with butter and sugar or honey and it is good with cup of tea or with stews and sauces. It makes a great snack too. Made with very basic ingredients flour water, oil and some salt.

Greetings from the US! I work with someone with disabilities who is a refugee from Somalia. The person really likes “mulwah” and I’d like to show the person how to make it homemade. Any ideas? Also, as healthy of a recipe as possible would be great as the person has diabetes. Thank you so much!
Hi LeAnn, many thanks for visiting here. I have uploaded the recipe, I hope you will enjoy making it for your friend. To make it more healthy this recipe can be enjoyed occasionally you could also add maybe half wholewheat flour. Please let me know how it goes.
