Oatmeal soup is thick and creamy mostly served during iftar, very filling it can stand on its own, and very satisfying any time of the day.

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- one lemon cut in half
Directions:
In a medium sauce pan heat the oil add the meat and brown, add the onion season with salt and pepper cook until the onions are translucent, add the garlic, cumin and coriander powder stir for few minutes.
Add the oats and water bring it to a boil reduce the heat and simmer while stirring occasionally about 30- 40 minutes. (make sure not to burn the soup.)
Using a hand blender or in a blender blend the soup until smooth and creamy.

Does anyone know how to get to the ingredients to this soup? Looks good just don’t know how to make it?
thank you so much for this! my mother in law made it once last ramadan and i was impresed just one question what is duqus in english???? please help 🙂 ramadan mubarak!
Duqus: is made from coriander seeds, heated on a dry pan briefly then it is grinded to a powder. I am not sure what else you add to it maybe some garlick… I couldnt find my note but Insha Allah I will try and post a recipe.

Many thanks,
You can use any type of oat that you have, Quaker if you have it will do, you are going to blend it in the end. Insha Allah I will post more recipes.

Sister do you have a recipe for Malawax?
I am sorry I dont have the recipe up at the moment.
Love this dish. You forgot the water in the directions section. When do you add the water? After the oats?
Thanks Sunshine for pointing that out.
