Ingredients
- 2 cups cups allpurpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup softened butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 6 tablespoons strawberry jam for spreading
- 1 cup heavy/double cream, whipped
- 2 tablespoon powdered/icing sugar
Instructions
- Grease two 9 inch 23 cm cake pans.
- Beat butter and the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs on at the time.
- With a spatula add the flour and the milk alternating and mix until combined.
- Bake in a preheated oven 350/180 for 30-40minutes or until the tops are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. let the cakes cool completely before spreading with the jam and whipped cream.
- Whip the cream to soft peaks.
- Spread bottom half of the cake with the the strawberry jam.
- Then spread cream on a top evenly.
- Using the other have of the cake sandwich it together and transfer it to a serving place.
- Dust with powdered/ icing sugar.
